while december 24th holds a big significance in the christmas holiday, believe it or not, there are other things that happened that day as well. such as the following:
1826: the eggnog riot at the united states military academy began, wrapping up the next day (whisky smuggling at its best)
1865: the ku klux klan is formed (nothing like bringing a little holiday cheer...or the exact opposite)
1965: african americans defy city law in tallahassee, florida and occupy front bus seats (100 years later, up yours kkk!)
1974: ryan secrest is born (probably already knowing how to say "this....................is american idol")
okay so maybe that many exciting things didn't happen. but merry christmas!
